I’m really excited for this week. This week I will put out two shows on the podcast or the first time. I’m getting the hang of this thing…

Both shows will feature my friend, Megan Barry.

For those of you outside of Nashville, Megan was the 7th Mayor of Nashville. She was the first woman to hold that office, and she won the office decidedly. From the time she took office in 2015 until she resigned in 2018, her life was one that most of us can’t even imagine living through. The most impactful moment of those three years, and perhaps her life, would be the passing of her son, Max, from an opioid overdose in July of 2017.

Megan is one of the strongest people I know. I’m grateful that she is one of the first guests on my show.

She’s also teaching a woman’s leadership honors class at Fisk University this semester, and she was kind enough to ask me to be the first person to speak to her class. We recorded the audio from that class and I’ll be releasing that this week too.

I learn a lot from Megan every time we speak, and this time was no exception. On the #CreativePower Hour, she talks about the gift of reflection. You’ll hear what that’s all about on this episode.
