An excerpt from this week's Two Worlds: Yes, this is a tough time. Whether you are worried about COVID-19 or the economy or both, there are severe difficulties in front of us. And, there is incredible beauty that we are paying attention to for the first time in a long time. The beauty of our shared vulnerability, the sky without never-ending carbon emissions, and uninterrupted time with our families. It’s impossible to ignore some of the benefits that this strange time has brought about.
Yes, many, many people are losing their jobs, and some are losing their businesses. The delicate state of our economy is distressing and very worrisome. And, some businesses are thriving. Some are even overwhelmed by the demand. The generosity on display from those who have to help those who’ve lost reminds us of what we know we are capable of as human beings.
